imCAD (Intelligent Modeling CAD) is an AI assistant that works right inside the CAD software you use, starting with SOLIDWORKS 2020 and later. Describe what you want in plain language, attach a photo or drawing if you have one; imCAD plans it, lets you review, then really builds it in SOLIDWORKS.
What imCAD can do
- Build parts from a description, a sketch photo, a PDF drawing or a STEP file.
- Insert parts into assemblies and add mates.
- Create drawings and export PDF, DXF, STEP, STL.
- Assign materials, read mass properties, run simple static studies.
- Hand long jobs to a background SOLIDWORKS while you keep working.
The result is a native SOLIDWORKS file
imCAD does not replace SOLIDWORKS. Everything appears in the feature tree just as if you had built it yourself, fully editable. Your design files stay on your computer.
The AI brain
For now imCAD uses your Claude or ChatGPT account. imCAD API is coming: buy credits and go, no separate AI account needed.
