No. imCAD installs for the current Windows user only and doesn't need admin rights.

No. Open SOLIDWORKS first; when the dot next to SW in the app turns green, imCAD is connected.

Create an account and verify your email to get a full-featured 7-day trial, no credit card needed. Each computer can use the free trial once.

Check your Spam or Promotions folder. Still nothing? Sign in on the website and click Resend verification link. The link is valid for 48 hours. Disposable email addresses can't be used to sign up.

One computer at a time. To move: in the app on the old computer go to Settings › Account › Sign out, then sign in on the new one. You can move up to 2 times in 30 days.

Reset it on the Forgot password page: imCAD emails you a link to set a new one (valid for 1 hour). After 5 wrong passwords, sign-in is locked for 15 minutes.

imCAD temporarily locks an account that appears on several computers in an unusual way. Email [email protected] from your account's address to get it unlocked.

Model parts, build assemblies with mates, create 2D drawings with views and dimensions, assign materials, compute mass, run quick static analysis, export PDF / DXF / STEP / STL and more, right inside your SOLIDWORKS.

State dimensions and units (mm), holes, fillets and material if needed. Attach a hand sketch or a PDF drawing with the ＋ button. Split complex parts into a few smaller requests and use the Expert level for hard ones.

The AI shows a step-by-step plan first; you review it before running it (unless you choose an automatic approval level). Not happy with the result? Click Undo whole turn. Still, back up important files before letting the AI edit them.

The AI works in a SOLIDWORKS instance running in the background on your computer, so you can keep working on something else. In Live mode it works directly in the SOLIDWORKS you have open.

The AI can misunderstand a request. imCAD reports volume, bounding box and mass so you can cross-check, but an engineer must always review results before manufacturing, quoting or sign-off.

Chat in English or Vietnamese; the AI answers in the language you ask in. Recent versions of the app also offer an English interface (Settings › General › Language).

Yes. Your Claude / ChatGPT subscription is paid directly to Anthropic / OpenAI, and AI usage counts against that plan. The imCAD fee doesn't include it, nor your SOLIDWORKS license.

Currently by bank transfer: pick a plan on your Account page or via Contact, imCAD emails you the transfer details and activates the plan once payment arrives. Businesses can request an e-invoice.

No automatic charges. Renew yourself before it ends. When a plan expires imCAD stops modeling, and the files you created stay on your computer.

No. SOLIDWORKS files stay on your computer; conversations go directly from your computer to the AI provider you chose. See Security & data.

In the app: Settings › Privacy — turn off model snapshots, hide project and file names, turn off automatic error reports, and set how many days chat history is kept.

When a new version is out, the app shows a New version bar; click Update and the app downloads it, checks the signature, installs and reopens. See what changed in the Changelog.
