Three places, clear boundaries.
Your computer
Most of your data- Part, assembly and drawing files: imCAD reads and writes them in place, as you approve.
- Chat history, auto-deleted after the number of days you set.
- Sign-in data and API keys (if used) are encrypted with Windows data protection.
The AI provider you choose
Anthropic or OpenAI- Your requests, attached images / drawings and the model data needed go directly from your computer to the AI.
- Uses your own Claude / ChatGPT account, under the data policy of the plan you chose with them.
- Model snapshots and file names can be turned off or masked before sending.
imCAD servers
Only what's needed to operate- Account, plan, activated computer, technical logs (sign-ins, app version).
- Error reports: automatic ones contain only the error message and version; logs, chats and screenshots only when you tick them.
- imCAD's engineering knowledge base is delivered to the app when needed.
Every action,
approved by you.
In the app, Settings › Privacy lets you decide what leaves your computer.
Review the plan before it runs
The AI shows the steps first; choose your approval level, down to step by step. Not happy? Undo whole turn.
Hide project and file names
Real names are replaced with generic ones before sending to the AI, useful for client projects.
Turn off model snapshots
Send only numbers (volume, bounding box, mass) instead of images.
Auto-delete chat history
Set how many days to keep it, or delete everything at any time.
Turn off automatic error reports
Automatic reports contain only the error message and version; you can switch them off entirely.

Encrypted connections
The app and website talk to imCAD servers over HTTPS.
Salted password hashes
imCAD can't read your password; 5 wrong attempts lock sign-in for 15 minutes.
One account, one computer
Licenses are bound to the activated computer; unusual use across computers triggers a temporary lock.
Signed updates
The app verifies the digital signature and SHA-256 hash of every update before installing.
Cloudflare infrastructure
Servers and databases run on Cloudflare, in the Asia-Pacific region.
Least-privilege access
Only a few authorized staff can see error reports you send, to support you.
The first-time installer is not yet Windows code-signed, so Windows shows a SmartScreen warning. Only download the installer from your Account page on imcadagent.com. Updates after that are signed by imCAD and verified by the app.
